USAD HEAVY DIESEL SERVICES PTY LTD is seeking an experienced and trade-qualified Diesel Mechanic to join its team in Griffin. The successful applicant will inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain diesel-powered vehicles and heavy equipment, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with company and manufacturer standards.
Key responsibilities:
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, vehicles and heavy equipment.
- Repair and replace defective or worn components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering and associated systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and safety checks on vehicles and machinery.
- Attend breakdowns and undertake field-service repairs when required.
- Maintain accurate service, maintenance and repair records.
- Follow workplace health and safety requirements, company procedures and manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment.
Essential requirements:
- Relevant Australian trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent recognised qualification.
- At least [two/three] years of relevant post-qualification experience in diesel engine, heavy vehicle and/or heavy-equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Demonstrated experience diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
- Ability to use diagnostic scan tools and interpret technical manuals, diagrams and schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and communication skills
- Current unrestricted driver licence.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable requirements:
- Experience servicing trucks, cranes, earthmoving equipment, mining machinery, 4WDs or other heavy diesel equipment.
- Experience with Caterpillar, Komatsu, Cummins, Volvo or similar equipment.
- HR or HC driver licence.
- Welding and fabrication skills.

- $40.00 per hour, equivalent to $83,200 per annum plus superannuation based on 40 ordinary hours per week
